Send us an email, DM us on ig, or sign up for our first practice (It's free)! If you cannot come to our first practice, don't worry. Contact us and you will still be able join starting from any of our fall weekly practices. We recruit members from September to late October.
There is NO official tryout for the team. Roster is selected based on your commitment, fitness improvement, and attendance! We have two fit tests in fall and winter respectively. The fit tests will serve as a benchmark for us to assess your improvement throughout the year.
You DO NOT need to know how to swim! Although it is advised that you know some basic swimming skills, you will be provided a life jacket during water practice! It is also REQUIRED to wear a life jacket or PFD when we race. For indoor poolside practice, swimming might be incorporated into some of the workouts, however, we provide alternative exercises for non-swimmers!
We have two weekly team practices on Sunday and Tuesday. Additionally, there will be 2 additional days where members are required to sign up for small-group gym practices with execs or complete workouts in their own time.
No. We welcome people with all experience levels. More than 50% of each year's roster is made up of rookies! It is all about dedication, effort and discipline. We will be teaching basic paddling techniques in off-season to prepare everyone for water practice in summer!
